Healessa Privacy Policy

Healessa ("we", "us") is a women's health and nutrition app. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used and protected, and the controls you have, including how to delete your account and data. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your health data for advertising.
What Healessa Tracks
Healessa stores profile details, life stage, measurement preferences, food and hydration logs, sleep and concern entries, weight logs, hydration/urine and gut check-ins, community posts/comments, challenge progress and completed-challenge badges, your membership tier and chosen profile theme, a daily logging streak, notification preferences, beta survey responses, care-team report actions, and structured lab biomarker snapshots.
Progress Photos
Progress photos are private and sensitive. They are stored local-first and encrypted at rest on your device. If you turn on sync, only the encrypted image is copied to your private account storage (never a readable image, and never to any AI service); decryption happens only on your device.
Labs and Health Data
Lab images, PDFs, and OCR text are processed locally for extraction and are not stored as raw reports. The saved lab record contains de-identified marker values, ranges, status flags, and wellness education.
Health Connect and Step Data
On Android, if you opt in, Healessa reads your daily step count from Health Connect only to show movement progress and track movement challenges. Access is read-only and limited to steps; you can revoke it in Health Connect at any time. On iOS, steps are read from the device's motion sensor. Step data is used only inside the app and is never sold, shared, or sent to any AI service.
AI Features
Healessa may use AI for concern analysis, meal estimates, and progress summaries. Lab report files, raw OCR text, and progress photos are never sent to AI services.
How We Protect Your Data
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Records are stored in Supabase and protected by user-level access rules (row-level security), so you can access only your own private health records.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data and do not share it with third parties for advertising. Data is processed by the infrastructure providers that run the app solely to provide the service.
Data Retention and Deletion
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app, or via the delete-account page. After deletion, encrypted backups roll off automatically within 30 days.
Children
Healessa is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
